Flexible solar panels on your fence: how SUNBOOSTER VERTICAL+ works

No roof available, living in a community of owners, or simply want to produce more energy without building work? SUNBOOSTER VERTICAL+ flexible solar panels turn the fence around your plot into a small solar plant.

What VERTICAL+ is

They are flexible solar strips only 1.8 mm thick that slot into a double-wire fence, in place of the privacy strips. Each strip weighs about 1 kg and carries bifacial monocrystalline cells with 22.8 % efficiency: they generate on both sides.

Why vertical

A vertical bifacial panel catches the morning sun on one side and the afternoon sun on the other. That spreads production across the day and makes better use of winter, when the sun is low. Dust also builds up less than on a tilted panel.

Which kit to choose

• Plug-in kit with inverter: the simplest way to start. The 1-set kit includes 6 strips, the Marstek INVERTER 800 microinverter and a 10 m cable. It comes for 2 m fence panels (372 Wp per set) and 2.5 m fence panels (474 Wp per set), with 1, 2 or 4 sets of 6 strips.
• Set of 6 strips without inverter: to extend an existing kit or connect to your own microinverter (max. 64 V, max. 2 sets of 6 strips in series, MC4 connectors).
• Flexible panel with battery: the kit with 2 sets of 6 strips plus the Marstek VENUS-E 5.12 kWh battery and the Shelly EM Gen3 meter.

Panels in one place, battery in another

The Marstek VENUS-E 3.0 battery plugs into a socket, just like the fence microinverter. No cables need to run between the panels and the battery: the fence can be at the far end of the plot and the battery in the garage, next to the fridge or the router. The Shelly EM Gen3 meter in the consumer unit detects the surplus and the battery stores it for the night or for a power cut (2.5 kVA backup output).
