Flexible solar panels for your fence: power without a roof or building work

SUNBOOSTER VERTICAL+ flexible solar panels turn a double-wire mesh fence into a small solar plant. Each strip is only 1.8 mm thick and weighs about 1 kg (1.0 kg for 2 m, 1.2 kg for 2.5 m), so it threads between the wires like a privacy strip. The fence stays a fence — it gives privacy and makes electricity.

The strips come in sets of 6 (6 strips per set, height ~1.20 m), one per gap of a fence panel. With 2 m strips (for 2 m fence panels) one set gives 372 Wp (62 Wp per strip); with 2.5 m strips, 474 Wp (79 Wp per strip). The system grows set by set: 1, 2, 4 or as many as the plot has fence panels.

Bifacial: they produce on both sides

The cells are bifacial with 22.8 % efficiency: one side takes direct light, the other the light reflected by the ground, a wall or a pool. Because the fence is vertical, output is not concentrated at midday as on a roof. An east-west fence produces mostly in the morning and the evening, exactly when the house uses most, and in winter the low sun hits the vertical panel almost head-on. That makes VERTICAL+ a good complement to a rooftop system and an alternative when there is no roof available.

Plug & play kit

The kit with inverter includes everything: the strips, the Marstek INVERTER 800 microinverter (or the Growatt NEO 1600M-X2 limited to 800 W in the kit with 4 sets of 6 strips), a 10 m cable with plug, the MC4 extensions and cable ties. The microinverter plugs into a nearby socket and the power is used in the house. No frames, drilling or ballast: the fence is the structure.

Where it fits

It is not a panel for roofs, motorhomes or balcony railings: it is designed to thread into a double-wire mesh fence.

With a battery: panels in one place, battery in another

To keep the energy for the night or have backup during a power cut, combine the fence with the Marstek VENUS-E 3.0 plug-in battery, 5.12 kWh. The battery needs no cable from the fence: it plugs in anywhere in the house and, thanks to the Shelly meter in the consumer unit, charges itself from the solar surplus.

Installation and legalisation by Bilotex

A plug-in kit is a self-consumption system, governed in Spain by Royal Decree 244/2019. Bilotex installs the system on the Costa del Sol and takes care of the legalisation: installation certificate and self-consumption registration. If you prefer to fit it yourself, we ship the kit in 3–5 working days and help you with the paperwork.

FAQ

Is it for roofs or motorhomes?

No: it is designed for double-wire mesh fences. The strips thread between the wires of a 6/5/6 or 8/6/8 mm fence; for roofs or motorhomes the shop has other panels.

Which fences does it fit?

Double-wire mesh fences of 6/5/6 and 8/6/8 mm with panels 2 m or 2.5 m wide. Choose the 2 m or 2.5 m strip to match your fence.

How much power does one set of 6 strips have?

1 set of 6 strips gives 372 Wp with 2 m strips (62 Wp each) and 474 Wp with 2.5 m strips (79 Wp each). Several sets can be combined.

Does it produce well vertically?

Yes, differently from a roof: being bifacial and vertical, it produces mostly in the morning and the evening and makes better use of the low winter sun. That is why it complements a rooftop system so well.

Do I need building work or an electrician?

No building work: the fence is the structure and the microinverter plugs into a socket. The self-consumption system has to be legalised under RD 244/2019; Bilotex can handle both installation and legalisation.

Can I add a battery?

Yes. The Marstek VENUS-E 3.0 plug-in battery (5.12 kWh) with a Shelly EM Gen3 meter in the consumer unit stores the fence's surplus with no cable between them. The complete set is the kit with battery.

Can I connect the strips to my own microinverter?

Yes, with the 6-strip set without inverter: MC4 connectors, 64 V maximum and at most 2 sets of 6 strips in series per input.

How long is delivery?

3–5 working days to mainland Spain.
