Frequently asked questions
What's the real difference between hybrid and string?+
Hybrid = has built-in battery input. String = solar only. If you'll add a battery now or in 2 years, buy hybrid — saves you €1 500 of external charger and simplifies wiring. Price difference vs string is usually €200-400.
Is the Huawei or SolarEdge premium worth it?+
If you have no shade, no. A Growatt or Deye gives the same annual production at 80% of the price. Huawei/SolarEdge premium is justified for (a) complex shaded roofs, (b) users who care a lot about the app, or (c) when you already have a Huawei ecosystem at home.
Why does SolarEdge only accept its own battery?+
SolarEdge has a closed ecosystem — the inverter only officially talks to the SolarEdge Home Battery (48V or 400V). LG RESU Prime is legacy and no longer sold. Pylontech, BYD and others are NOT on the approved list. For battery freedom go Deye or Growatt.
