DC protection box that combines two panel strings into a single inverter MPPT input. Includes 4 × 10×38 mm 1000 V DC fuse holders with 10 A gPV fuses (+ and − of each string), 2 × type-2 600 V DC surge protectors (In 20 kA, Imax 40 kA, Up ≤ 2.8 kV) and a 2P C63 600 V DC breaker (Icu 6 kA) as the output isolator. IP65 8-module enclosure with transparent cover, 2 pairs of MC4 input connectors, output cable glands and PE earth terminal.

Can I connect two strings to an inverter with one MPPT?

Yes, that is what it is for: it joins two strings in parallel (same number and model of panels) and feeds them through one output to the MPPT. Each string has its own 10 A fuses; the total output current is rated up to 63 A.

What does a PV protection box do?

It protects the DC line between the panels and the inverter: fuses isolate a shorted string or reverse current, the surge protector (SPD) diverts lightning surges to earth, and the DC breaker lets you disconnect the panels to work on the inverter safely.

What is the maximum string voltage?

Up to 600 V DC. Check the string's open-circuit voltage (Voc) at low temperature before installing — in winter it can exceed the nominal value by 10–15 %.

Where is it installed?

Wall-mounted near the inverter or on the roof. The enclosure is IP65, suitable for outdoors, with MC4 connectors for the strings and cable glands for the output and earth.

Does it need a qualified electrician?

Yes, it must be installed by a certified electrician under low-voltage regulations, with the SPD earth connected. Bilotex installs it together with the panels and inverter.
